To Jas...

Happy First Father's Day! It has been an awesome 6+ months watching you be a Daddy and enjoying our first months together as parents of our precious Eyla. I love watching you with her; so gentle, so loving, so attentive. I love watching her with you; so secure, so relaxed, so loved. You make us a family, and we love you so much.

Current note...

just a couple random things to report:
-it is currently 86 degrees in our house.
-all three of us are sweating, while doing nothing, but sitting.
-Eyla cut her third tooth while on vacation - the first one on the top.
-She is also sitting up very well without help, although she did take a pretty hard nose dive earlier this week : (
-I "mooed" (like a cow) at her tonight, and she started crying. It could have been because after a normal moo, I ended with the "mad cow" moo that was going around on email a couple years ago. If you havn't seen it, check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aO1qFdSqCLw&NR=1. Very funny. So, maybe I shouldn't be surprised she was a little shocked!?!

Met John, Rachel, Austin, Josh & Luke at IHOP near Norfolk,VA for breakfast. They were headed home after a week on the OBX, so we crossed paths on our way down! Very fun way to continue our family time for the week...

VACATION...

Friday, June 5 - left Anderson at around 6pm to start our vacation! Drove 3 hours to Columbus to stay the night with cousins Deke & Andee - great conversation that evening and great breakfast at First Watch the next morning, before we hit the road.













Eyla traveled GREAT. We stopped only twice during the next 9 hours, filling the car with gas and giving her some time out of her carseat to stretch and drink a bottle. These two pictures are from those two stops...havn't really even paid attention to options for feeding a baby outside of a hot car, but not inside a restaurant or something like that...we made do!



















Eyla spent her first night in a hotel on June 6. As Priceline.com would have it, she ended up with her own queen size bed! Very relaxing night...woke up and checked out of the hotel by 9am the next morning to meet some family for breakfast...see next post!

Memorial Day weekend...

This is a little out of order...sorry.
Jason and Zak (old roommate, current buddy) went on a bike trip Friday-Sunday. Eyla and I spent Friday evening with my parents here in Anderson, then spent Saturday & Sunday in Indy with Beth, Zak's wife.
