Back to work...

Bet you couldn't leave this cute girl to go to work, either!

Great picture, huh?? Not real excited about how cute we think she is in the Bumbo seat!!

So, I (Cherilyn) started back to work this week at Dove Harbor. My boss has been very gracious and has allowed me to split my maternity leave up so that I'm going back part-time for a couple weeks, to ease back into full-time instead of going from being completely off on a Friday to back totally on a Monday. I definitely think this has helped, but it also has felt a little bit crazy, especially today, when I left the house with Eyla in tow, to drop her off to spend the day with Brooke and Amanda...only to have the car stall at the end of our alley! I called Brooke to have her rescue Eyla and called Jas to have him rescue me and the Passat...that accomplished, I dropped Jas back off at work and go to the Harbor about 45 minutes later than I expected. Oh, well...

We are still trying to figure out the best plan for childcare long-term. We have an option set up for Eyla currently with a local daycare, but it is more expensive that we want to pay long-term, especially since we only need coverage 20-30 hours/week, but have to pay for full-time regardless of how many hours she is there. Jas has been approved to take off Wednesdays, so he'll have a full day with Eyla, which is very fun.

Life is sure different with a baby...don't know if it is what we expected or not...I think I worked to hold off judgement when I was pregnant because so many people try to tell you what to expect, and I didn't want to judge my own experience based on how other people feel/change/cope with things in their own lives. I'll take the liberty of speaking for Jas when I say we are loving Eyla and really enjoying the change she brings to our lives.

That's all for now...heading to bed, probably for about an hour before little E wakes up for a midnight snack!
