Eyla's pet dog

Went to Old Navy today...Eyla called it "Old Maybe".  In Old Maybe, Eyla hugged, picked up and lugged around the plastic mannequin dog that is part of most displays inside the front door.  Uncle John helped her name it Sam (I think).  She called the little girl mannequin in the display her friend, hugged her many times and played with her sweater.  She made her way around the group of mannequins, touching their clothes, and checking them out.  She touched one of the women and said, "my mama" and did the same to the one she designated at "my dada".  This brought her back to the dog, which again, she hugged and lugged.  She gave it a kiss on the mouth when we were ready to leave.

A conversation worthy of my 200th post

Friday in the parking lot of Menard's, waiting for Jas to rejoin us in the car.
E:  Mama, I have a boogie.
Me: Do you need a kleenex?
E:  yes
Me:  Here's a kleenex.  Please put your boogie in it.
E: I no eat my booger, Mama?
Me:  No, we don't eat boogers.  Please put it in the kleenex.
E:  No, I look at it.
Me:  Ok, look at it, but don't eat it.
(a couple seconds later)
E:  (says frantically) I dropped it, Mama!  Where my booger?  (reaching beside her leg in the car seat)  I can't get my booger!

Enough said.  And yes, I grabbed the closet writing utensil I could find (a mini blue sharpie) and scribbled this conversation on the paper from daycare, just so I would forget it.  Maybe a little gross, but oh, so funny!!

Conversation on the way home...

As I was driving the girls home from daycare yesterday,  truck swerved across the center line towards me.  I honked my horn and said, "whoa"!  The following is the conversation that preceded that:
E: What happen, Mama?
Me: The truck swerved and it scared me.
E:  He 'care you, Mama?
Me: Yes, it scared me, but its okay now.
E: He no scare you any more.
E:  I take care a'you, Mama.
Me:  Eyla, that's so nice.  I like that you're going to take care of me.
E: (reaching out her arms) I can't reach you, Mama!
Me: I can't reach back there while I'm driving.  I would love a hug when we get home.
E: We go home and see Dada.  Dada no scare you, Mama.
E:  I take care a'you, Mama. (reached arms again)
******************************
Conversation #2, after we passed someone walking on the sidewalk
E: Who dem?
Me:  I don't know them.
E:  I don't know 'dem eder (them either, in case your 2 year old translating skills are struggling!)
E:  He a big guy.  You big guy, Mama?
Me:  Do you think I'm a big guy?
E:  You big guys, Mama and Dada.
Me:  Are you a big guy?
E:  Yeah, I a big guy, too.
Me:  Is Bailey a big guy?
E:  Bailey a big little guy.

This girl cracks me up!  Driving in the car is hilarious...
"see da city bus, Mama?  She so cute!"
"church daycare, Mama!  I go der."
"birds on wire, Mama"
(looking ahead at a couple intersections with traffic lights) "2 greens, 1 red"

So...

Sorry for the lull...my online photo album, which is where photos for this blog are stored, is full.  Supposedly I have to purchase more space to be able to post more...not gonna happen!  Tried to delete them, but then they will be deleted from the blog.  Don't want to pay, don't want to delete, don't want to start a new blog...Any suggestions????

-(As she eats something)  Mama/Dada, you made dis?  That's so nice!...or...It good!

The last week

This is the response to "smile for a picture, Eyla"

LOVES washing dishes!

This picture was an hour into last weekend's nap (about 10 minutes after she fell asleep), after I put her back into bed no less than 12 times and kept my laughter to a minimum as I listened to everything from "Mama, come 'mere", "Dada" (he was not even here at the time!), crying/yelling, talking to her animals, "No, Mama"...after two days of that routine last weekend, today she was very cooperative and I didn't have to return her to bed at all!  She just woke up from a 2 hour nap - yay!

Sorry for the blurry...making homemade pizza with friends Brooke & Amanda.

Super Bowl hanging out with Andrew (Bennison) & Evan (Elden).

Sara & Bailey (Super Bowl party)

Addie (Elden) above and Ian (Canfield) below: too busy playing to join the kid picture!

Bailey and her Daddy, first day of daycare

Eyla & Bailey, on B's first day

Bailey and her Mama, ready to leave for daycare

This girl loves to help with whatever is happening at the moment...in this picture, it included tearing up turkey for our dinner!  It isn't too much of an issue, except trying to remind her of her "dirty" hands before she touches everything in sight, including her hair, clothes, etc.!

Potty training goodies from Aunt Rochelle, Uncle Doug & Simon  (potty training update: she has been REFUSING to sit on the potty since we tried the big girl panties last weekend...that continue until yesterday when she successfully sat, peed and was rewarded with M & M's!!)

After-bath beauty
Handpainted stone by one of "my" ladies at the Harbor...very pretty & unique!

Beautiful afghan made by one of "my" woman at Dove Harbor, for Bailey!
